Post-holiday reflections
I never really got into the “Christmas spirit” this year. I think it may be because Christmas changed for me two years ago when, between Dec. 23 and Jan. 4, my dad was dying and baby Margaret was in the hospital. Some very bad memories associated with the Christmas season as a result of that.

Angels and shepherds and kings
Today was the annual Epiphany pageant at St. Christophers. There is no service which better illustrates the “sacred chaos” of St. C.’s. Despite several hours of rehearsal, most participants aren’t exactly sure what they’re supposed to be doing. Children (usually mine) walk randomly across the altar at inopportune moments.
