I’m crabby today for a reason that I shouldn’t be crabby. We’re renovating David and Margaret’s bedroom – it was done with this flimsy material called “beaver board” instead of drywall. It’s been on the to-do list since we moved into the house 7 years ago, but the recent torrential rain/roof leak created more urgency to actually do something about it. So I shouldn’t be crabby because when it’s all done, we’ll have a lovely room for the kids with a new, fully-functioning closet (a first for this room). But I’m crabby because this is what our bedroom looks like:
You see, they’ve moved in with us, and I’m tired of it. Margaret is so excited about the new arrangement that she doesn’t want to go to sleep. Plus, I just get really cranky when I’m surrounded by chaos for long periods of time (like, more than 30 minutes). We’ve probably got another 1 1/2-2 weeks to go until they can move back into their room, which looked like this this morning:
Of course, when it’s done, it will be lovely, just like our kitchen which we just finished (and which was a bigger hassle) which looks like this:
Luckily, with this done, we have completed all of the major renovations the house needed when we moved in. Now we just need new windows and new front and back gates. Sigh…next year’s projects.
