This is the best pork loin roast I have ever made, and also one of the easiest. The sauce was delicious (although two family members still put barbecue sauce on it, as they do with everything. And yes, it’s the two family members who are OVER the age of five.) (I originally got the recipe at www.allrecipes.com, but I can’t find it. Doesn’t matter, because I can remember the five ingredients.)
1 3 lb. pork loin roast
1/2 cup sugar
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
3/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp. ground mustard
Mix sugar, tomato sauce, sugar and mustard. Place pork loin in crock pot and pour the sauce over it. Cook on low for 8-9 hours. (If you want to, you can add some cornstarch in the last 1/2 hour to thicken the sauce.)
I put this in the crock pot in the morning, and served with Bob Evan’s mashed potatoes (which I stock up on when they’re “buy one get one free” at Jewel) and some steamed veggies.
Yum. I think this sauce would also work very well with a beef roast. I’m going to try that next time. With a side of barbecue sauce.
